We are passionate about creating homes that welcome, inspire and nourish your soul!

And we believe good design is about so much more than making things beautiful (although we love doing that too!)  It’s about how you connect to a space ... the way it functions, feels and looks.

We pride ourselves on exceptional service, and we work hard behind the scenes to take the stress and confusion out of your design project, and help you navigate the process with confidence, ease and joy.

If you are planning to undertake your first interior design project, we bet you've got loads of questions ... many of which we're sure we've been asked before.

Of course, if you have something else you'd like to know, feel free to contact us here.

Or, to chat more about your project and how we can support you, you can book a complimentary 20-minute Discovery Call here. We'd love to hear from you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for your Initial Design Consultation?

Yes, our initial design consultation is a 2-hour working meeting, generally held on-site.  We spend the time getting to know you and your project and provide our expert advice, inspiration, and ideas to help solve your design challenges.  Following our consultation, we prepare a bespoke scope of work and fee proposal for your project.

How should I prepare for my design consultation?

Our initial design consultation is hugely valuable as it helps us better understand your needs, wants, likes, dislikes and lifestyle. We will send you our project and lifestyle questionnaire to complete before our meeting and this will help you think about key information to share with us, such as your project goals and priorities, design and style preferences, budget and more.  It’s also a great idea to have some inspiration images ready to share with us as this will help us explore your likes and design style further.

How can I be sure you will understand my taste?

We work across many different design styles and our ultimate goal is for your home to reflect who you are! Our initial design consultation is where we get to know all about you, your lifestyle and your likes and dislikes in more detail.

From there, our design expertise allows us to interpret your brief and to develop considered design solutions that will add value to the way you live and enjoy your home…. Plus will look beautiful and feel uniquely you!

How do I get the most out of working with an interior designer?

Firstly, be prepared to openly discuss your needs, wants and lifestyle with us.  It’s also important to share your project budget and ideal timings so that we can help guide your project in the right direction.  We know it can be a bit scary trusting someone else to understand what you want, but open communication and trust in the process is key to getting the most out of our expertise.

How do you charge for your design services?

Our design fees are based on your individual scope of work, using our experience on other similar projects to estimate the time required to complete each step of your project, and will be clearly outlined in your Fee Proposal.

Implementation tasks are often more difficult to estimate in advance (such as procurement, supplier follow ups, site visits and any post-installation styling services) so these are charged at an hourly rate, and you will be provided detailed time sheets for these hourly-based tasks.

Please note, that your initial design consultation is invoiced in advance of that meeting.

Can you help me manage my budget?

With our industry experience and knowledge, we can help guide you with your project budget decisions and make appropriate design suggestions tailored for you and your budget.  For instance guiding where you might like to splurge a bit more on something special, and then how to pull back in other areas.

When should I engage you in my renovation or building process?

Good design takes time, so we recommend allowing a minimum of 12 weeks.  That allows time for the initial consultation, preparation for your scope of work and fee proposal, concept design, design development to source finishes and fixtures and to prepare your documentation package.

We recommend booking your initial design consultation at least three to six months ahead of when you’re planning construction to start.

How long does the design phase of the process take?

The design stage is the longest most detailed part of our process. Every project is different; however this stage typically takes 8-12 weeks (including concept design and design development).

During the design stage, we develop considered design solutions, prepare drawings and conduct personalised selections for all elements of your home - from finishes, fixtures and fittings, to furniture, furnishings, window treatments and more. We procure samples and cost estimates and prepare a detailed design presentation for your review and approval.

What kind of documentation do you provide?

We provide detailed documentation that’s relevant to your project scope and may include the following:  Floor plans, kitchen, bathroom and laundry elevations, other joinery plans/elevations and electrical plans.  If your project requires 3D renders to help bring your design to life, we can provide these too.

We also complete detailed schedules outlining our selections for your home including the application of the colour choices, finishes, fixtures and fittings (FF&E Schedule). This ensures that everyone working on your project is aligned and has the same information.

Note, if your project requires structural or detailed construction drawings, you will also need to engage an architect/building designer and/or an engineer.

Do you recommend builders and trades?

Yes, we work with several building companies and a trusted group of trades, who we consider to be an extension of our team!  These include electricians, plumbers, cabinet makers, painters, wallpaper hangers, window treatment installers etc.

How are builders and trades paid?

We are happy to recommend our trusted builders and their trades however the contract will be between you and the builder/trades directly. The builder will invoice you directly according to the agreed fee schedule.

Do you project manage the renovation/build?

We work closely with builders and trades to ensure your design details are executed as intended.  This includes regular site visits with the builders and work through any design variations that pop up during the project.

Once you’ve appointed your builder, they are responsible for the site, all their trades and the building project timeline and build budget.  Your builder is the project manager.

Do you do projects outside of Sydney?

We do! While most of our projects are based in Sydney’s north shore, northern beaches and inner-city suburbs, we absolutely love working on projects outside of the metro area, and have successfully executed projects interstate. So do reach out if your project is located elsewhere … we might just be the perfect fit!
