Our homes are our sanctuary, where we seek calm, comfort, and connection—with ourselves, our loved ones, and the world around us! And colour is one of the most powerful tools in interior design to completely transform how we feel in a space!
Every year we look forward to the Dulux Colour Forecast as it gives us a sense of the global design directions and colour inspiration that we’ll start to see infiltrating homes and spaces!
The Dulux 2026 Colour Forecast builds on last year’s palettes, and are all about creating tenderness and connection through colour! It beautifully captures the sentiment that our homes are our sanctuary, introducing three palettes—Ethereal, Elemental, and Evoke—that invite us to create spaces that are nurturing, grounded, joyful and expressive.
This year, Dulux favours warm earth-based neutrals, deep berry tones, soft greens, gentle pinks, and muted pastels. The result? Interiors that feel sophisticated, restorative, and welcoming.
Our Take
We love that the Dulux 2026 palettes feel inviting, warm, cocooning and are also quite versatile. Whether you’re craving a nurturing yet uplifting retreat vibe (Ethereal), a timeless neutral foundation (Elemental), or a playful, personality-filled space (Evoke), there’s a palette to suit every style and lifestyle.
The curation of each colour palette is where your interior designer can help bring each palette to life in your spaces and home. And as we always say – you don’t need to go ALL IN on these palette’s, you can introduce touches throughout your home to create a fresh perspective.
We hope the new Dulux colour palettes inspire you and if you’re wondering how to use them in your home, we’ve included our expert tips below!
Elemental Palette – Grounded, Calm & Intentional
Offering a sense of calm and grounding this colour palette is rooted in slow-living principles and minimalist design. Combining warm whites, neutral greys, caramel, deep chocolate and subtle red. Designed for those who value the feeling of rest, connection and simplicity.
This palette is inspired by natural materials and finishes, and a sense of durability, not fleeting trends. Think enduring materials like stone, concrete and timber that not only connects us to nature but anchors spaces in natural, sustainable choices.
Our Pro Tip – We love this palette for communal spaces like living, kitchen or dining spaces, due to its depth, warmth and versatility. Layer textures and finishes in this palette for a rich, lived-in feeling that oozes refinement.
Evoke Palette – Bold, Eclectic & Personality-Filled
This palette celebrates the resurgence of maximalism, individuality and nostalgia. Inspired by vintage eras of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, it combines burnt oranges, blush pinks, warm golds, deep berries, and rich greens. Creating eclectic, layered interiors that are full of character and personality!
The beauty of maximalism is a heavy use of rich materials – think velvet, faux fur, marble, chrome, timber and copper accents. Bold prints, layered patterns, and vintage-inspired pieces create depth and charm.
Our Pro Tip: This palette lends itself well to being bold – you could wrap a room in mid-tones for cocooning depth or to be a bit more measured, you could introduce pops of colour with furniture, textiles, and accessories for some playful personality.
Ethereal Palette – Soft, Dreamy & Restorative
A delicate, uplifting palette designed to be rejuvenating, restorative and playful. Think soft greens, mauves, vintage rose, gentle pastels, and warm buttercream. It draws inspiration from wellness rituals, walks in nature and the soft ocean breeze! This palette helps to create spaces that feel serene.
Our Pro Tip: This palette would be fun to inject subtle character into your spaces through material choices, furniture & decor selections or painted feature trims. Think a beautiful pink marble in your powder room, warm blue toned cushions or rug, a beautiful soft terracotta ceramic, a feature front door… yum!
Our final tips for bringing the Dulux 2026 colour palettes into your home…
- Test first: Lighting affects colour—order sample pots of paint or A4 paint samples to view hues in your home.
- Layer for depth: Combine multiple shades from one palette to create a considered, designer finish.
- Think beyond walls: Ceilings, trims, doors, and joinery are excellent ways to incorporate on-trend tones.
- Start small: Not ready for full walls? Introduce colour via cushions, rugs, or décor.
